Have Faith: Achieving Your Goals

How much faith do you have in yourself and belief that you can achieve a goal you want? Often the difference between success and "almost" success is a slim margin. In business it is often overlooked the importance of an employee having faith and belief in themselves to get the job done. Or the confidence their leadership team has faith in them! So what is faith? Having faith is believing in something that is unseen. It's like a blind date; you hope it turns out but you really don't know what the end result will be!

So what does it take to have faith? Remember the lion in the Wizard of Oz? It takes courage to have faith because you do not have the proof in front of you. If you had proof; why would you need faith. It's the uncertainty that is the essence of faith. The story the Wizard of Oz is still a favorite because we all want to reach our destiny. I know the ending but why do I still watch the movie? Even the Bible says; faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see! (Hebrews 11-1) You may not be a person of religious faith but it is a great explanation.

My son had a goal to have ten houses before he was 35 years old! He reached that goal this year and he is 32! If I heard him say he would have ten houses before age 35 at least 5,000 times I think that would be too few! Believe me it wasn't easy and he put hours and hours into making it happen but he never gave up or lost hope long enough to stop trying.

What can you do? Boast your faith by affirmations such as "I have what is takes to achieve my goal and state the goal!" Repeat it over; and over; and over again. What other affirmations can you think of that speak to you? Write it down and speak it out loud. Belief in yourself and keeping your confidence is the hallmark of faith when you are challenged. You have to take steps to reach your goal and procrastination slips in if you do not keep your faith and confidence alive! Take the risk and move past any limiting belief you have to take any step; no matter how small. A small step forward will continue moving you toward your goal! It's the old saying you can't eat an elephant in one bite!

Everyday is a gift and even with changes, challenges and cliffhangers you can enjoy your life and reach your full potential. The days will pass anyway, so why not live life to the fullest and become the best you!
